CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) — Dairyman Scottie Mayfield has decided to run for the Republican nomination for Congress in the 3rd District.
WRCB-TV quoted Mayfield as saying he will seek the seat now held by first-term Republican Chuck Fleischmann . He has no previous experience in politics.
Others in the Republican race are Weston Wamp, son of former Congressman Zach Wamp, and two others.
Two Democrats, Bill Taylor and Mary Headrick, have announced their intentions to run in the district.
