BLOUNTVILLE — A Kingsport man has pleaded guilty to attempted rape and fondling of a young boy.
Houston Isley, 42, 641 Nelson St., Apt. 160, was originally charged with rape of a child and aggravated sexual battery in Sullivan County Criminal Court.
According to Sullivan County Assistant District Attorney William Harper, Isley pleaded guilty to aggravated sexual battery and a reduced count of attempt to commit rape of a child during a Thursday court appearance.
He was ordered to serve 100 percent of a 10-year prison sentence. He will be added to the Tennessee Sexual Offender Registry and placed on community supervision for life. Isley will also have to pay a $3,000 sexual offender surcharge and a $200 sex offender fine.
The victim in the case was less than 10 years of age when the offenses occurred in December 2010.
Isley was arrested Sept. 15, 2011, after a Sullivan County grand jury returned sealed indictments against him on Sept. 6, 2011. He was originally set for a Feb. 22 trial.
