ROGERSVILLE — As part of its regular cycle of recognizing the efforts of all employees with the Hawkins County school system, Jan. 12 has been set as Child Nutrition Worker Appreciation Day by the Hawkins County Board of Education.

Using a carnival theme, students in Hawkins County will be expressing their gratitude and thanks to the child nutrition workers in their schools.

There will be various activities to honor and celebrate the work of these employees led by students and supported by the community.

“Expressing appreciation is vital in our school system so that each employee has the opportunity to be recognized for the fine work he or she does on a regular basis,” said Director of Schools Charlotte Britton. “Every group of employees makes contributions that are essential to the success of our students. We could not operate without each one.”

Child Nutrition Worker Appreciation Day is one of eight specified days set apart throughout the year to honor school system employees as part of Utrust’s Employee Appreciation Program.

Activities are led by student teams in the schools.
