The rink draws more than 30,000 skaters each year.
The Johnson Controls Ice Rink and HVAC Chill Hill at Bristol Motor Speedway, like Speedway In Lights, have become a winter ritual for thousands of visitors. The rink is the only one in the immediate area, making it an extremely popular winter activity.
The Johnson Controls Ice Skating Rink is in the midst of its tenth season of providing ice skating fun to individuals of all ages. Open throughout the holidays, it's the only ice skating rink within a 90-minute driving radius of BMS, and it’s become one of the Speedway’s most popular off-track events. The rink draws more than 30,000 skaters each year. The covered rink, which is 60-by-120 feet in size, is located just inside the main entrance of Bristol Motor Speedway, off Highway 11E.
Both the ice rink and Chill Hill will remain open through Jan.15.
The cost to skate is $5, plus an additional $2 skate rental. The cost for Chill Hill is $7 per person for a 50-minute session. Anyone wishing to take part in the tube slide must be at least 48 inches tall to ride alone. Children can ride with someone 16 or older if they are at least 36 inches tall for an additional $3 cost for the pair.
AutoTrader.com Speedway In Lights powered by TVA is open from 6 to 10 p.m., nightly through Jan. 7. Proceeds from your visit to Speedway In Lights benefit the Bristol Chapter of Speedway Children's Charities.
