KINGSPORT - Three local electric vehicle enthusiasts will be on hand at Kingsport’s new downtown parking garage Sunday afternoon, showing off their electric rides as part of the national Plug-in Day event taking place in 26 cities across America.
The event will take place on Sunday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the city’s new $4.5 million parking garage (located at the corner of Shelby and Center). The garage includes six electric vehicle charging stations on the ground floor level, usable by the public, free of charge.
The vehicles on display Sunday will include a Nissan Leaf, a Toyota Prius and a Tesla Roadster. Organizers hope to have a Chevrolet Volt on hand as well.
