ROGERSVILLE — A Hawkins County grandmother was charged with DUI, drug possession and two counts of child endangerment last week stemming from a traffic stop in which she had her two 1-year-old grandchildren in the van she was driving.
The Hawkins County Sheriff’s Office arrested Connie Darlene Pearson, 49, 505 Reno St., Rogersville, shortly before 3 p.m. Thursday afternoon after she was allegedly observed driving a 2000 Dodge Caravan southbound on Route 70-N in an erratic manner with her two small grandchildren in the vehicle.
HCSO Sgt. Lynn Campbell said he observed Pearson swerve over the fog line and center line and into the northbound lane on Route 70-N and then come to a complete stop in her lane of traffic.
Campbell said he conducted a traffic stop on Pearson near the Signature Health Care of Rogersville facility at 109 Route 70-N.
