Fans of the Bowtie Brigade will invade Bristol Dragway as the 31st Annual Super Chevy Show kicks off an action-packed series of events at the famed q u a r t e r- m i l e .
The Super Chevy Show, scheduled for Sept. 23-25, will be even hotter than usual. Like last year’s event, it coincides with Fas Mart Thunder Valley Mayhem, presented by Beef ‘O’Brady’s Family Sports Restaurant.
Thunder Valley Mayhem will light up the dragway on Saturday night with thrill-a-minute action that includes some of racing’s most extreme machines and outrageous personalities.
Gates open at 9 a.m., Friday, with racer tech inspection. A Test and Tune session is scheduled for noon. Gates open at 8 a.m., Saturday with car show registration and tech inspection. Time trials will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., when bracket racing gets under way.
Saturday’s Fas Mart Thunder Valley Mayhem, presented by Beef ‘O’ Brady’s Family Sports Restaurant, will feature two pro show sessions, starting at 6:30 and 8:30 p.m.
Gates open at 8 a.m., Sunday, with car show registration and tech inspection. A Racers for Christ chapel service is slated for 8:30 a.m. Time trials will be held from 9 a.m. to noon, with bracket races at 12:30 p.m. and a pro show featuring the pro mods at 1:30 and 3:30 p.m.
Spectator admission is $10 on Friday and $20 both Saturday and Sunday. Saturday’s admission includes Thunder Valley Mayhem. A weekend pass is available for $30. Children ages 10 and younger can purchase a ticket for $5 per day or $10 for the whole weekend.
For more than 30 years, the Super Chevy Show has been known for some of the most exciting bracket and exhibition racing in the country, and this year is no different. Super Chevy Show’s extreme exhibition machines return to take part in Thunder Valley Mayhem on Saturday night. Nitro Extreme Pro Mods, which also will make passes on Sunday, will square off in one of the wildest shows on four wheels.
Fans will also get a chance to see a large selection of some of the region’s best classic and modern Chevys at the event’s Keisler Engineering Car Show.
New to this year’s show is a monster truck match race.
Crowd-favorite Tranasaurus will also be on hand to tear trashed cars to shreds, while the Team FMX Freestyle motorcycles will also perform.
The Performance & Restoration Marketplace will be open throughout Super Chevy, along with a car corral and used parts swap meet.
