KINGSPORT — The Kingsport Mets lost their second consecutive game to the Danville Braves in a 7-5 Appalachian League defeat on Tuesday night at Hunter Wright Stadium.
The loss drops them two games behind Elizabethon in the West Division as the Twins won 9-0 over Bristol. There are seven games remaining on the schedule.
The K-Mets jumped to a 2-0 lead going into the fourth inning before starter Juan Urbina allowed six earned runs, five coming off two homers.
Juan Gamboa and Camden Maron led Kingsport with two RBIs each, Gamboa’s coming off a two-run homer in the seventh and Maron’s off a first-inning double.
Gregory Ross (7-3) picked up the victory for Danville, going six innings and allowing only three runs. Joe Lucas came in the ninth and got his sixth save of the season.
Fernando De Los Santos led the Braves with a three-run homer, his first of the season.
The K-Mets play their last home game of the season today at 7 p.m. against Danville.
