Firefighters responded to a 911 call reporting an "explosion" in Bloomingdale early Friday morning, finding heavy fire and smoke pouring from a structure.

According to Bloomingdale Volunteer Fire Department Lt. Joshua Chastain, the call came in at approximately 5:30 a.m. Crews responded to Pinehurst Drive to find an unoccupied home ablaze.

Chastain said the alleged explosion could not be confirmed, with an investigation into the fire's cause continuing.
