PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. (AP) — A locally produced movie about the history of the Smoky Mountain resort town Pigeon Forge is expected to be released soon on DVD.

According to The Mountain Press, the 40-minute "Cornfields to Condos" was conceived and produced by city historian Veta King, Pigeon Forge Library technical coordinator Derek Romines and others.

It was created as part of the city's 50th anniversary of incorporation.

Pigeon Forge, on busy U.S. 441 leading into the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, is lined with motels, restaurants, miniature golf courses, shopping malls and the Dollywood theme park.
