Montgomery vexed the Powell Valley lineup throughout Friday evening’s Coca-Cola Classic opener at Clarence Mabe Field, allowing just six hits in a cagey 5-3 win over the Vikings.
“He obviously earned another one,” Elizabethton coach Joe Nix said jokingly. “He’s thrown in a couple of relief appearances, but for his first start he did a great job.
