GATE CITY — After letting a pair of close basketball games slip away in the past week, Dobyns-Bennett made all the right moves on Wednesday night.
The Indians out-shot, out-rebounded and outworked Gate City for most of the game and walked away with a 77-52 victory in the final outing for both teams before next week’s Arby’s Classic.
The Tribe broke open the game with an 18-2 run in the second quarter, weathered a Blue Devil outburst in the third period and went 8-for-9 from the floor in the fourth to slam the door.
“They made the little plays that win basketball games and we didn’t,” Gate City coach Scott Vermillion said. “There were some big swings, and they took advantage of them.”
