KINGSPORT — Dobyns-Bennett bottled up David Crockett’s 7-foot center on Friday night.
Now if the Indians could just find a way to bottle up the defensive intensity they displayed during the middle two quarters of their Big 8 Conference opener, they’d really be in business.
The Tribe shook off a sluggish first period by outscoring Crockett 46-10 over the next 16 minutes en route to a 71-41 victory.
The Indians held Zach Garland, the Pioneers’ big man, to 10 points, seven rebounds and three blocks, with half of those points coming in the waning moments of a blowout few could have predicted.
