KINGSPORT — The fear is gone for Sullivan South. A scary development for opposition.
The Lady Rebels wrapped a testing weekend of soccer at the Lady Tribe Invitational 2K10 on Sunday with a defeat in the tournament final. The loss, 2-1 to Karns, did little to deter from what was a progressive journey at Eastman Park at Horse Creek.
“I think we took away the fear that we’ve had this year,” South coach Stephen Fuchs said. “We’ve been able to develop and get better. We’ve done a great job.
“The girls have consistently improved, from Friday to today. It’s been a heck of a tournament for us.”
This weekend, the Lady Rebels (5-2-2) played five games in three days. The gantlet included victories over Seymour and Jefferson County — as well as a key 1-0 win over Dobyns-Bennett on Sunday morning.
