KINGSPORT — Dobyns-Bennett was just minutes from recording its first win of an already frustrating season. Instead, that accomplishment, incredibly, will have to wait.
Natalie Street netted in the first minute of added time, earning host Sullivan South a 2-2 draw with the Lady Indians in an absorbing District 1-AAA girls soccer contest Tuesday evening.
The Lady Rebels’ dramatic result eased more than a decade of futility against their crosstown rivals.
“It was really frustrating,” South forward Teagan Wood said. “It’s my senior season so I was out for a win, but we fought as hard as we could.”
