Two 18-year-olds were arrested Saturday after allegedly firing a handgun towards an occupied home outside of Kingsport.
A police report says six people were at the residence, prompting six charges of felony reckless endangerment against each of the suspects.
According to Sullivan County Sheriff's Office arrest report, the incident occurred at about 9 p.m. Deputies responded to 1646 Forest View Drive, where a resident said he told two men to leave his home.
The victim claimed that as the men left in a Cadillac, one of the suspects leaned out the passenger window. He allegedly fired six rounds from a handgun, "over the top" of the residence. Police say four shell casings were found in and near the road.
The Sheriff's Office issued a BOLO for the suspects' vehicle, with a Kingsport officer locating it a short time later on Sevier Avenue. A Sullivan County deputy responded to the scene and questioned the occupants. The victims were brought to the scene, where they positively identified the men.
The Sheriff's Office says Davon Tater, 18, of 3032 Boones Creek Road, Gray, was identified as the shooter. Phillip Mbarathi, 18, of 913 E. Sullivan St., Kingsport, was allegedly the driver.
They were each arrested and charged with six counts of felony reckless endangerment. The police report did not specify if a weapon was located.comments powered by Disqus
