The vehicle exited the mall and entered to parking lot of Warpath Bowling Lanes. The officer reports a young male was driving, while a young female was the passenger.
At the bowling alley the officer exited his patrol car and approached the suspect's vehicle. It allegedly, "pulled away at a high rate of speed," down Warpath Drive, then turned onto Bridwell Street. Police report quickly terminating a pursuit, "due to the nature of the stop and recklessness of the driver."
Police were able to identify the owner of the vehicle as Cody Benton, 23, of 1512 Parton Drive. At 9:15 Wednesday morning they responded to his home and spoke with his girlfriend, 18. She admitted to being a passenger during Tuesday's incident, and claimed she didn't know why Benton had ran from police.
