Limestone man pleads guilty to oxycodone charges; faces 20 years

GREENEVILLE — A 56-year-old Limestone man pleaded guilty Monday in U.S. District Court to possessing oxycodone with the intent to distribute and faces a 20-year prison sentence.

Douglas Jay Bussell was indicted in December 2009 after a routine traffic stop in July 2009 on Interstate 26 in Unicoi County netted hundreds of controlled substances, including oxycodone, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

In addition to the prison term, Bussell also faces a $1 million fine and three years on supervised release.
