The late John Goodin’s daughter extended the olive branch, so to speak, to the family of the man accused of killing her father 11 years ago this week after a judge on Monday ordered the 81-year-old recommitted to a mental institution.
The impromptu meeting in the Washington County Justice Center hallway seemed to bring relief for Dee Goodin as well as Walter Shell’s niece and other family members.
For Dee Goodin, she said it brings “resolution,” to the last 11 years. For Shell’s family, they said they were relieved to talk to Goodin’s daughter and express how sorry they feel for what happened.
