According to the Asheville Citizen-Times, a convicted sex offender wanted in Tennessee on a fugitive warrant was captured by Yancey County, N.C. deputies and the U.S. Marshal Service.
Verne Bret Ivers, 44, was found along with two other suspects at a mobile home on Fox Hollow Road, Chief Deputy Tom Farmer said.
Ivers was wanted on a felony parole violation in Greene County, Tenn. He also was charged with failing to register as a sex offender in North Carolina, Farmer said.
