KINGSPORT — Kingsport police made two drug arrests on Wednesday after one of the suspects allegedly admitted smoking a “big one” inside a car at Fatz Café.

Police said following their arrests the other suspect asked the responding officer to roll up his automobile’s windows — leading to the discovery of a bag of marijuana in the console.

According to a Kingsport Police Department incident report, officers were called to the restaurant, 2610 W. Stone Drive, about 8 p.m. A caller advised someone was smoking marijuana in a car in the parking lot.

Police located the car and spoke to the man in the driver’s seat. Robert A. Pillor, 25, 309 Riverview Ave., Church Hill, told the officer he “might” have a warrant out for his arrest.

A check revealed Pillor was wanted in Sullivan County for violation of probation, and he was arrested.

The officer then spoke with the man in the passenger seat, Dustin L. Roberts, 29, 785 N. Holston River Drive, Kingsport.

“Dustin admitted he had just smoked a ‘big one’ referring to a marijuana joint,” states the officer’s report.

Police said Roberts was “unable to properly care for himself.” He was arrested on a charge of public drunkenness.

Before being transported from the scene, Pillor asked the officer to roll up his car’s windows and lock the doors.

“While rolling up the windows, I observed a baggie of green leafs believed to be marijuana in the console,” stated the officer. “Neither party claimed the bag.”

Both Pillor and Roberts were subsequently charged with possession of marijuana.
