'Cupid's Escort Service' house call in Bristol ends with prostitution charges

BRISTOL, Tenn. — A Bristol man and two self-described employees of Cupid’s Escort Service face prostitution charges after a house call ended in a disturbance Monday morning.

According to a Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office report, a deputy was called to 780 Beidleman Creek Road to investigate a report of a man threatening a woman with a gun. En route, the deputy was told the man had gone back inside. Upon arrival, deputies found two women sitting outside in a car. The women told police that a man with a rifle had gone back in the house.

The deputy stated in the report that he brought the women to his car for their safety before making contact with the man in the house, Todd Michael Carrier, 40.

The two women were identified as Amanda Holder, 27, 306 Spring Lane, Kingsport, and Donna Shepard, 52, 502 S. Barton St., Johnson City.

The women said they worked for Cupid’s Escort Service, a business that provides “companionship” and “lingerie modeling” to customers. They said Carrier had called them Sunday night and Monday morning to give them directions to his home.

Holder said she went inside while Shepard waited in the car. She said Carrier asked if he could touch her. When she told him no and started to leave, she said Carrier grabbed his rifle but didn’t point it at her.

Holder said she had trouble with the door and the lock. When she got it open, she said Carrier pushed her outside.

Carrier said he didn’t know who the women were or why they were at his house.

The deputy asked him why there were two incoming calls from his number on Shepard’s phone.

Carrier said he’d seen the numbers on his cell phone and called them back to see if they concerned his construction business. He said he didn’t know the women were from an escort service.

The deputy issued misdemeanor citations to Carrier for patronizing prostitution, Holder for prostitution, and Shepard for promoting prostitution.

The report states Carrier will also be investigated for a possible aggravated assault charge.

The report did not give a business address for Cupid’s Escort Service, and a Web search failed to turn up a business listing.

However, Shepard, aka “Mandy,” and Holder, aka “Trinity,” were among several arrested in Johnson City in 2008 in connection with two escort services there that were found to be operating mainly for the purpose of prostitution. One business was called Cupid’s Comfort Zone, and the other was Sexy Sweethearts.
