Police ID Johnson City woman killed after walking into traffic

A woman was killed Friday night when she apparently walked into oncoming traffic and was struck by a vehicle, according to authorities. The incident occurred at the intersection of State of Franklin Road and Buffalo Street just after 7 p.m. Friday.

Johnson City Police Department Capt. J.D. Toth said the woman was struck by the vehicle and transported to the Johnson City Medical Center, where she died from her injuries.

The victim was later identified as Sarah M. Crowe, 110 W. Chestnut St., Apt. 2. The driver was 25-year-old Laura M. McAnly, 321 Sinking Creek Rd., police said.
