January 5th, 2010 12:00 am by Rain Smith

A man searching in vain for his "buddy" and a couch to "crash" on was arrested Monday night after knocking on doors at numerous homes.

According to an incident report from Kingsport police, at about 10:20 p.m. an officer responded to Catawba Street. Outside of 1251 Catawba St., the officer made contact with a man identified as Andrew Scott Taylor, 31.

Taylor, whose address is listed by police as 1333 Catawba St., stated he was knocking on doors to find his "buddy" and "crash" on his couch.

The officer states in his report that he had encountered Taylor earlier in the evening at a Kingsport hotel.

"I advised him of the time of night and he stated that he thought it was a lot earlier," reads the police report. "I asked him if he understood what I told him earlier about not causing disruptions with family or neighbors from when I dealt with him previously. He stated he did not think he was causing a problem by knocking on doors."

The police report notes that other officers had recent dealings with Taylor and, "his refusal to comply with lawful orders to quash behaviors that were disorderly."

Taylor was arrested, charged with disorderly conduct and transported to the Kingsport City Jail.
