Study shows Sullivan, Hawkins, Washington counties have high percentage of obese adults

Sullivan, Hawkins and Washington Counties didn't fare very well  in the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Diabetes latest report.

The report showed that 30.2 percent of the adults in Sullivan are obese. Hawkins County's obesity data weighted in a little heavier at 32.2 percent of the adults in the county and 29 percent of the adults in Washington County are obese.

Hawkins also had the highest percentage of adults with diagnosed diabetes - 12.8 percent.
In Sullivan County the number is 11.9 percent, a 10 percent of Washington County's adults  have diagnosed diabetes.

Tennessee was ranked as the 4th fattest state in the nation.
