According to a Greeneville Sun report, a 71-year-old woman escaped her burning home uninjured but only with the clothes she was wearing and her purse.
Greeneville Fire Department Lt. Marty Shelton said firefighters found flames coming from the front and roof of Lucille Anderson's home when they arrived. He added Anderson escaped the burning house before firefighters reached the scene.
Greeneville police officers alerted and evacuated residents of a nearby house while firefighters sprayed water onto it to prevent it from bursting into flames due to heat radiating from Ms. Anderson's burning residence.
