According to the Greeneville Sun two Chuckey-Doak High School students were injured -- one critically -- Monday afternoon when their car collided with a bread truck.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol declined this morning to release the names of the injured students, citing uncertainty about the driver's medical condition and the possibility that charges might be placed in connection with the accident.
However, Trooper James Fillers said the collision occurred when the students' car pulled onto Highway 107 into the path of a westbound van-type bread truck.
The driver of the truck was treated at the scene of the wreck and declined transportation to a hospital. The car's driver, a girl, was ejected from the car and critically injured.
She was flown to the Johnson City Medical Center by a Wings Air Rescue helicopter. A nursing supervisor said the teen victim was in critical condition there this morning.
