October 22nd, 2009 12:00 am by Jim Wozniak

UNICOI — A road rage incident that began Wednesday afternoon on Interstate 26 in Johnson City led to a confrontation at the Murphy Oil here in which one man displayed what was believed to be a real gun to two other men who chased him to his apartment complex in Erwin, Unicoi County Sheriff Kent Harris said.

The incident led to all three men being arrested and the discovery of an air soft gun, which had been shown at Murphy Oil and resembles a BB gun. The gun was found about 100 yards from Whispering Meadows Apartments after a search.

The three men were being held Wednesday night in the county jail. "It's sort of a confusing situation,” Harris said.
