Johnson City window manufacturer TRACO to close; 200 jobs lost

September 23rd, 2009 12:00 am by Jeff Keeling

Close to 200 people will lose their jobs as early as November when TRACO closes a 10-year-old facility that produces windows in north Johnson City.

The Pennsylvania-based company, which had just added dozens of jobs at the local facility on Silverdale Drive, is consolidating all operations at its headquarters outside Pittsburgh, a spokeswoman said today.

Employees were notified personally this week, Denise Abraham said.
