Samantha Rowe didn't think about the flames. She didn't think about the danger.
"I heard that child screaming and crying," she said Thursday. "I wasn't worried about the risk. I just wanted to get him away from that burning car. It was just a mother's instinct."
Rowe, a stay-at-home mother, helped pull 4-year-old Nicholas Murphy to safety Wednesday night from the fiery crash on Chapman Highway that killed his parents and another driver. She pulled up within about a minute of the impact.
