A fiery crash on Chapman Highway that killed three people was caused when a speeding Jeep went out of control and slammed into two other vehicles, a spokeswoman said this morning.
The driver of a 2005 Jeep Liberty thought to have caused the 6:49 p.m. Wednesday crash was killed.
Knox County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Martha Dooley identified the Jeep driver as Jessica L. Monroe, 26, of Morristown. A passenger in the Jeep, Elaine Jinenez, 22, was taken to the University of Tennessee Medical Center for treatment. Her condition was not immediately available this morning.
