Men killed in night club shooting had records, gang affiliations

The Jackson Sun is reporting that two men killed in a Sunday morning nightclub shooting have an extensive criminal history were affiliated with rival gangs.

Police are still investigating whether the shooting was gang-related and whether it was connected to another shooting at another nightclub the same night.

Jackson residents Joe Richard Poston, 24, and Robert Benjamin Seats, 28, died of gunshot wounds after a shoot-out in the parking lot of J-Mumbly's, at 903 Hollywood Drive in the Hollywood Shopping Center. Seven others - three women and four men - were injured in the incident.

Jackson police also are investigating a second shooting that happened about 2:20 a.m. Sunday in the area of the Sesame Street Lounge, at 411 Railroad St. Tallis Croom, 22, was treated for a gunshot wound to his chest and released from the hospital.
