Johnson City juvenile charged with kidnapping and attempted rape sent to jail after turning 18

A teenager whose juvenile charges of aggravated kidnapping and attempted rape are now in adult court was also transferred to adult jail Thursday since he is now 18 years old.

Dakoda Carrera, of Johnson City, was arraigned on his charges — two counts of aggravated kidnapping with a weapon and one count each of aggravated kidnapping to facilitate a felony, attempted aggravated rape and evading arrest — in a hearing before Criminal Court Judge Lynn Brown on Thursday. He pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Brown appointed the public defender’s office to represent Carrera on the charges.
