Sister of man killed in wreck facing vehicular assault charges

September 3rd, 2009 12:00 am by Staff Report

According to a Greeneville Sun report, the sister of a  Greene County man who died from injuries he sustained in a Wednesday afternoon wreck is facing charges.

Ricky Brice, 41, of Millers Chapel Road, was ejected from a sport utility vehicle driven by his sister, Tina Renee Brice, 36, of Locust Street, Greeneville, shortly before 5 p.m. Wednesday in the 9000 block of the Horton Highway, according to Trooper James Fillers.

According to the trooper, she apparently over-corrected when the SUV dropped off the edge of the road. That over-correction sent the SUV veering across the road to the left. It then spun and hit  a utility pole and an embankment.

Ricky Brice was flown by a Wings Air Rescue helicopter to Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport where he died the early today.

Ms. Brice has been charged with two counts of vehicular assault and one count of driving on a suspended license. Other charges are pending.  The charges and an arrest warrant followd Ms. Brice's "performed poorly" on a field sobriety test at the accident scene.
