Damascus wins first game in Senior League World Series

According to the Bristol Herald Courier, Damascus won its  first test in the Senior League Softball World Series Sunday night with a 17-5 win over Germany's Ramstein Air Force Base.

Mariah Morrison led the Damascus attack with a 3-for-4 effort that included a home run and four RBIs. Faith Ritchie, Brianna Thomas and Taylor Doss added three hits apiece for Damascus, while Megan Honaker contributed two RBIs.

Damascus pitcher Morgan Lowe worked four innings for the win, allowing four earned runs on three hits and striking out eight.
