According to a report by the Morristown Citizen Tribune, City Administrator Jim Crumley has accepted a $145,000 payment and is no longer in the employ of the city government.
By approving the deal and paying $35,000 more than the amount provided for in Crumley’s contractual severance agreement, council members avoided saying why they were removing the city administrator from office.
The vote to approve the agreement was 5-1 with council member Frank McGuffin casting the lone dissenting vote.
Morristown Mayor Sami Barile voted to ratify the agreement, but called Crumley’s departure "a railroad job."
