According to a report in the Greeneville Sun, a 29 year-old man was killed Sunday when the motorcycle he was riding west on the U.S. 11E hit a car that pulled from Rolling Hills Road while attempting to cross the westbound traffic lanes.
A Tennessee Highway Patrol dispatcher this morning identified the victim as Carlos Odum, 29, of Greeneville.
According to police reports, Odum was riding a Kawasaki motorcycle west on U.S. 11E "at a high rate of speed" when a Honda sedan driven by Racheal Swiggett, 22, of Rolling Hills Road, attempted to cross the westbound lanes of U.S. 11E to turn left toward Greeneville.
The motorcycle struck the left rear side of the Honda. Swiggett was also injured.
