Tennessee AD says no to Vols wearing black football jerseys in 09

July 8th, 2009 12:00 am by Staff Report

According to the Knoxville News Sentinel, Tennessee fan blogs have been buzzing about the possibility of the Vols playing in black jerseys this fall.

But Tennessee athletic director Mike Hamilton indicated that such a drastic change from the Vols’ traditional orange jerseys isn’t likely.

Hamilton wouldn’t say no to black jerseys, though he did say Tuesday that he doesn’t foresee Tennessee in black “anytime in the near or distant future.”

He also says the uniforms are ordered at least a year in advance of the season in which they will be worn, ruling out any changes made by coach Lane Kiffin to the 2009 season.
