June 24th, 2009 12:00 am by Staff Report

According to the Bristol Herald Courier, two members of Dr. Ralph Stanley’s band - The Clinch Mountain Boys - were injured when their car was hit by a drunken driver  in North Carolina early Monday.

Fiddler Dewey Brown was driving his wife, Leslie, who is pregnant, and Ralph Stanley’s 16-year-old grandson, Nathan, who plays the mandolin, to the Browns’ Snow Camp, N.C., home.

The wreck occurred when Alejandro Perez Sosa, 25, plowed into the back of their SUV, sending them skidding down a three-story embankment into a creek. Sosa ran away, but police tracked him to his home and arrested him.

Sosa faces charges of felony hit and run, speeding, reckless driving and driving under the influence, according to a news statement issued by the Burlington (N.C.) Police Department.
