The Greeneville Sun is reporting that Greene County Sheriff's Department reports show two cows and a calf died at different locations around the county recently after being shot with arrows.
On report taken by Deputy Sheriff Jimmy Willett on May 11 said a Snapps Ferry Road man told him that between May 8 and May 11, someone shot and killed a black angus cow in a field off Windsong Road with a bow and arrow.
The report, which indicated that the cow was valued at $1,000, said an arrow was recovered at the scene.
A second report taken by Deputy Willett on May 13 said a J. Mel Johnson Road resident told him that on May 11 or May 12 someone shot with a bow and arrow and killed another black angus cow in a field there.
Again, the cow was valued at $1,000 and an arrow was recovered, according to the report.
