Bristol plant to offer 100+ jobs to Greeneville workers fired when EcoQuest sold

April 6th, 2009 12:00 am by Staff Report

The Greeneville Sun is reporting that the head of Aerus Holdings, LLC, the Dallas-based corporation that bought EcoQuest International, said he expects that his company will hire at its Bristol, Va., plant "over 100" of the Greeneville EcoQuest employees who lost their jobs when EcoQuest was sold.

That prediction was made in an interview by Joseph P. Urso, chairman and CEO of Aerus Holdings, LLC and its subsidiary, DBG Group Investments, LLC.

DBG bought most of the assets of EcoQuest, the Greeneville manufacturer and marketer of air and water purifiers.

The sale was announced to employees and the public last week, and the local workforce was laid off that day.

Most of the jobs that will be offered by Aerus in connection with the purchase of EcoQuest, he said, will be at Aerus' present 400,000-square-foot facility in Bristol, Va. It also was announced Wednesday that some EcoQuest jobs would go to the holding company's headquarters in Dallas.
