Kiffin looks to bring another change to Vols: Practices open to public

March 5th, 2009 12:00 am by Associated Press

Tennessee head football coach Lane Kiffin is hoping to have fans of the Volunteers join the team for one of its spring practice sessions.

The move would be another departure from business under Philllip Fulmer, who traditionally closed practice from the public.

Kiffin hopes to open the team’s practice at 7:30 p.m. on March 13 at Neyland Stadium, giving fans a chance to see the players in action. The decision is pending approval of the fire marshal.

Kiffin says he's planning a very physical spring practice period because it’s the best way for the coaching staff to assess the players.

Tennessee will participate in 14 practices before hosting the annual Orange and White game at 3 p.m. on April 18.
