According to the Florida Times-Union, Kingsport native and free agent strong safety Gerald Sensabaugh has drawn the interest of the New Orleans Saints.
The Jacksonville Jaguars, who drafted Sensabaugh in the fifth round of the 2005 NFL Draft, have decided to let the unrestricted free agent walk away from the club.
The NFL free agency period began at 12:01 this morning.
NBCSports.com reports the Saints' biggest void is at free safety, and Sensabaugh, 25, is coming off his best season. Sensabaugh is a young player with upside, and he played for new coordinator Gregg Williams last year in Jacksonville.
Meanwhile, CBSSports.com ranks Sensabaugh as one of the top players available in this year's NFL free agency market.
Ranked 21st, CBS says, "Were it not for his off-the-field issues, he'd be higher on this list. He was the Jaguars' best defender in the final five games of last season."
