February 19th, 2009 12:00 am by Staff Report

According to the Greeneville Sun, the Greeneville Housing Authority is expected to get  about $1 million from the federal economic stimulus package passed by Congress last week.

The infrastructure portion of the $787 billion stimulus package includes $4 billion for public housing improvements, according to the Associated Press.

Rebecca Moyer Adams, the authority's executive director, says she wants to use the money  to develop off-the-street parking for units in GHA's Development 1 on Ross Boulevard, Cox Circle and Easterly Lane.

Adams said she also wants to use the funds to install chain-link fencing between GHA and the adjacent Twin Oaks Village apartment complex.
