Greeneville woman loses control of car, killed in wreck

The Greeneville Sun is reporting that a Greeneville woman was killed Friday evening when the car she was driving ran off Baileyton Road and hit a utility pole.

Tennessee Highway Patrol Trooper Eric Wise told the Sun that d Valerie Lashley, 48, of the Greeneville Terrace Apartments, at 406 Elk St. was apparently traveling at high speed near Hardin's Chapel United Methodist Church when the wreck happened.

According to the trooper's account of the wreck, Lashley apparenlty lost control sending her car off the right side of the road. It then veered to the left where the car struck a utility pole, breaking it into three pieces.
