Too much alcohol contributed to at least three unusual arrests in Kingsport on New Year's Eve.

Early Wednesday morning police responded to a call on Lovedale Drive, near downtown Kingsport. According to an incident report from Kingsport Police, a man was walking beside the street -- completely naked in 45 degree weather.

The responding officer reported the man, Robert Bunn, 42, slurred his speech and was unsteady on his feet. The suspect was transported to city jail and charged with indecent exposure and public intoxication.

Police also responded to a fight in the parking lot of the Sprint Store, 1657 East Stone Drive, around 4:40 Wednesday afternoon. According to an incident report, police found one man collapsed on the ground, next to the open passenger side door of a car. Another man was standing beside him.

Police told the man who was standing, Derrick Lee Bowman, 22, of Blountville, to leave the other man alone, but he would not comply. Bowman allegedly started yelling and cursing, making it difficult for the Sprint Store and their customers to do business.

The incident report states Bowman smelled of alcohol and his eyes were bloodshot. He was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and public intoxication.

Bowman identified the man on the ground, David Lee Wilson, 46, of Kingsport, as his stepfather. Police say Wilson could not walk on his own and also smelled of alcohol.

According to the incident report from police, Bowman said his stepfather had not only been drinking, but was also hit in the head with an aluminum baseball bat -- three times. Wilson was transported to the hospital for treatment.

The police report did not say who hit Wilson with the bat, or if the alleged attack occurred at the Sprint Store or elsewhere.
