December 18th, 2008 12:00 am by Staff Report

Baileyton police have seized a 10-pound brick of marijuana during a traffic stop at the intersection of the Horton Highway and Van Hill Road.
Baileyton Police Chief David Shell told the Greeneville Sun that the compacted pot was wrapped in clear plastic and that it was the biggest seizure by his department in the last 13 years.
Shell said the contraband had an estimated street value of about $10,000.
Police also confiscated the car that was used to transport the illegal substance.
