Business creations: Zoomerz ribbon cutting set for this week

December 13th, 2008 12:00 am by Staff Report

KINGSPORT — The Kingsport Area Chamber of Commerce will hold a ribbon cutting for Zoomerz at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 18, at 1634 Fort Henry Drive.

Zoomerz is a full-service gasoline station and convenience store that offers fountain and coffee stations.

Rogers Petroleum operates 20 Zoomerz locations in East Tennessee and Virginia.

Owner Donald Rogers chose the new location due to the highly traveled intersection and events that take place year round near the site.

“I am excited to be in Kingsport and thrilled about the positive feedback Zoomerz has received,” Rogers said.

He said he put extra care and consideration into construction at the site. Due to the high foot traffic during the summer and other special events, Zoomerz built outside restrooms that can accommodate the demand.

“We wanted to give back to the Kingsport community that allowed us to be part of it,” said Rogers.

Zoomerz was launched in 1995. The new location is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Sonali Spa & Salon

KINGSPORT — Sonali Spa & Salon has opened at 1880 North Eastman Road, Suite 310, next to Panera Bread.

Sonali Spa & Salon is a full-service facility that offers all medical laser services and free consultations for various treatment, such as skin rejuvenation, spider veins, brown spots and medical hair removal. All treatments are performed by a board certified physician. Non-laser hair removal is also offered with a wax line for those with sensitive skin.

Kingsport resident and owner Shari Rajoo selected the location due to her strong belief in Kingsport, she said.

“There is no need for Kingsport residents to go anywhere else for a luxurious, relaxing experience,” Rajoo said.

In addition, Sonali offers the Youngblood mineral make-up line, facials, manicures, pedicures, body treatment packages, bride and groom packages, and a full-service hair salon.

“Our color line is Schwarzkopf color,” Rajoo said. “This is a radiant, long-lasting line for that special holiday look or event.

“Our mission is to provide excellent service in an exquisite environment so that our guests will leave enveloped in tranquility and inspired from within,” Rajoo said.

Mr. Appliance

JOHNSON CITY — Anthony Arroyo, owner of Mr. Appliance of the Tri-Cities, has announced the startup of his full-service appliance repair business.

“Mr. Appliance of the Tri-Cities will have the personal touch of a locally owned operation,” Arroyo said. “The technology and systems in place at Mr. Appliance will help me deliver faster, more reliable service.”

Before investing in his Mr. Appliance franchise, Arroyo ran a local appliance repair business, AA Appliance Service Center. He said he has always cared about putting his customers first.

“I wanted to start a business founded on quality systems and customer service,” Arroyo said. “The Mr. Appliance front-line system is the unique type of service I believe this community deserves.”

Upon purchasing the business, Arroyo attended a five-day training course on the latest technology and customer service techniques.

“We follow a professional system at Mr. Appliance. Our service professionals wear shoe covers inside homes and use a menu pricing guide so there are no surprises,” said Doug Rogers, president of Mr. Appliance Corp. “We’re delighted that Anthony has joined our team, and we believe his business will be successful because we all operate under the same core values.”

The Mr. Appliance of the Tri-Cities franchise will serve Sullivan and Washington counties.

Mr. Appliance is North America’s largest appliance repair franchise system. Established in 1996, its franchises provide full-service residential and light commercial appliance repair. Super Dollar

ROGERSVILLE — Super Dollar Discount Foods has reopened on Highway 66 in Rogersville.

The location has undergone a complete facelift to accommodate the new format, including a bright new interior and exterior design concept.

“We greatly appreciate the patience and understanding shown by our customers during the temporary closing,” said Steven C. Smith, company president and chief executive officer. “I feel sure they will find the new store well worth the wait.”

The new Super Dollar offers top-selling supermarket brands as well as the exclusive Food Club and ValuTime items.

“Since our first Super Dollar opening, we’ve more than doubled the number of items we offer, including additional flavors, sizes and variety in just about every category. And because we buy directly from the manufacturer, we receive a lower cost, which we pass on to our customers. This means huge savings off the national brand price,” said Smith.

“The opening of our new state-of-the-art Food City on East Main Street and the addition of the Super Dollar will give our customers two great options for all of their shopping needs.”

The store’s meat department includes packaged meats, along with fresh meat items, cut and packaged inside the store. Custom cuts and special orders are accepted.

The store also features a Produce Department with fresh fruits and vegetables, dairy and frozen food items, greeting cards and a special Dollar Zone section, including a wide variety of dollar-priced general merchandise and seasonal items.

Super Dollar stocks a complete selection of Top Care brand health and beauty care items, including shampoos and conditioners, body wash, toothpaste and antiperspirants; over-the-counter medications such as Aspirin, ibuprofen, cold and flu remedies and first-aid supplies; plus miscellaneous items like cotton swabs, lotions and feminine hygiene needs. A new line of Paws Premium Pet Foods, litter, treats and toys will also be available.

“In addition to exceptional customer service, our shoppers can expect to find superior freshness and quality at extremely low prices,” said Randall Tipton, director of store operations. “The Super Dollar offers our customers a large selection of products at exceptional savings without compromising quality or service.”

The store will be open until 9:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday. Major credit cards, WIC, and food stamps are accepted.

Headquartered in Abingdon, K-VA-T Food Stores operates 102 retail food outlets throughout the Tri-state regions of Southeast Kentucky, Southwest Virginia and Northeast Tennessee.
