The Knoxville News-Sentinel
is reporting that two Dover, Tenn., street preachers, facing charges of disorderly conduct, had their cases continued today in Blount County General Sessions Court.
Judge Robert Headrick reset the cases to Dec. 16 to allow them to get their Pennsylvania lawyer to court.
Both Jeremy Burt, 21, and Jay Bryant, 27, told Headrick they intend to contest the charges against them. They were arrested for their preaching activities in the median at the busy intersection of West Lamar Alexander Parkway and West Broadway, which authorities said created a traffic hazard.
They reportedly were preaching and waving signs at motorists.
Burt, Bryant and Burt's father, Wallace Scott Langford, 49, also were cited for demonstrating without a permit. A later court date was set for that issue.CLICK HERE
