Knife-wielding man robs store

December 2nd, 2008 12:00 am by Staff Report

According to a Greeneville Sun report a knife-wielding man robbed the Stuckey's market on Lonesome Pine Trail at Interstate 81's Exit 30 shortly after 5 a.m. this morning.

County Sheriff Steve Burns said witnesses told officers that the suspect appeared to be in his early-to-mid 20s and was described as about 6-feet-2-inches tall with a slender build.

At the time of the robbery, the suspect was wearing a blue, hooded coat that may have had some silver trim on it.

A witness who was pulling into the market's parking lot at the time the suspect leaving the store told officers the suspect ran toward the back the building, the sheriff said.
